I am trying to locate the names of the towns in Germany in which three of my great grandparents were born. One is Jacob Schmitt who was born about 1836 in Hesse Darmstadt. I do not know the year of his emigration but I believe it to be about 1850. I have not found him in Germans to America nor in any other passenger indexes I have searched for certain. The other great grandparents came from the western part of the country. Actually, my great grandfather, Peter Bohn, born May 22, 1851 was born in Alsace Lorraine and emigrated in 1870. His wife, Dorothea Greinsberger, born in 1850 in Wurttemberg emigrated in 1871. I cannot find them in any of the above sources. As a matter of fact, I have not seen the name Greinsberger anywhere other than in my grandmother's bible. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
