I'm looking for the parents and siblings of John Patrick Mahoney and his brother, Matthew Mahoney from County Cork Ireland. The brothers came to the U.S. in the late 1840's and settled in Hayfield Township, Crawford County, PA, where they were both farmers. John P. Mahoney was my great grandfather and was married to Ellen McCarty. She was the daughter of Humphrey McCarty and Mary Shea. I have been told by a distant relative that the two brothers, John and Matthew had 4 other Mahoney brothers who accompanied them to the U.S. and that they settled in other areas of the country. There may have also been another brother and a sister who remained in Ireland. I am trying to trace them back to Ireland. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
