Ancestor Catherine BYRNE from co Kildare was tried for stealing in Dublin 1839 and transported to Australia on the Minerva II, August 1839. She was 19. She changed her name once her sentence was complete to Sarah Kennedy. Her death certificate states her parents are John Kennedy and Mary McDonald these could be mostly ficticious or John may be John Byrne and mother in fact, Mary McDonald.
