Hello; I am researching my Keenan family tree. I have been unable to find the town of origins for my ggg grandparents, Felix and Sarah (McQuoid) Keenan; b. 1814/1809;IRL Their son, John Keenan, was baptized in Kircubbin, Co.Down in 1835. Felix and family immigrated to the Dearham, Cumberland, ENG area about 1845. One branch of the family continues to reside in Cumbria; others from this tree have immigrated to Australia. John and Elizabeth (McKenzie) Keenan; b.1835 IRL/1837 Carlisle, Cumberland, ENG eventually started a successful china shop in Cockermouth, Cumberland, ENG and successive generations operated it. My g grandparents; John James and Mary (Berry) Keenan; b. 1865 Cumberland, ENG ventured over the Atlantic about 1890 and my grandfather, Thomas Berry Keenan was born in Williamsville, PA in 1893. The family returned to Cockermouth but returned to settle in the Rochester, NY area about 1910. Thomas married Florence Wright;b. 1901, Macedon, NY and raised their family in the Rochester, NY area. Anyone with additional info on these families, please drop me a line at charlesmkeenan1@yahoo.com Best regards from Western NY Chuck Keenan | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
