I am working on my Nickerson Family genealogy and keep hitting snags. For one thing, I thought my granfather's name was Frederick Charles Nickerson as that is what is on his death certificate, but on my dad’s birth certificate, it says, Charles Frederick. My uncle just wrote me and said the name is Fred Charles Nickerson, born in 1888 in NY, died in 1947 in Ct. One form says my grandfather was born in Syracuse, NY another says Schoharie, NY. All the info I get says that you Fred's father was Edwin or Edward, and but he doesn’t seem to exist. Fred's mom was Anna Coons Nickerson, but she died in 1892, when Fred was 4 and his sister Edna Nickerson was 2. In 1900 Edna and Freddie (as it is listed on the 1900 census) are living with their aunt, Minnie Coons, Anna ‘s sister. I can not find a marriage date or certicite for Fred.
