I'm looking for information on a Mary Christmas who probably was born in the mid 1700s. She was a member of the Christmas family of North Carolina, a family of surveyors. One of them laid out the city of Raleigh. This Mary was a Trustee of Cane Creek Baptist Church founded in 1789. Very unusual for a woman to be a trustee. She may have been a widow named Mary Day when she married a Christmas who owned land in western Orange County. Then the Christmas family disappears from local records.
