Query Text: |
Robert Franklin Ward was a Confederate soldier. He enlisted 22 June 1861 in Co A, 30th SS Battn Regiment, Virginia. He died in a Pearisburg Virginia hospital on 2 April 1863 as a result from an unknown illness, possibly smallpox. What happened to his body? Was he buried near Pearisburg or could he have been cremated? I was told that sometimes soldiers were buried on the hospital grounds, the hospital sometimes being a home. I would like to know where he is if possible. Any help will be appreciated. His father was Thomas Ward from Raleigh County. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
