I am searching for a man, or relatives of a man, involved with Edith Alene Page, Spalding of Glenn Allen and Cape Girardeau, MO., during and/or after WWII. She was employed in St.Louis at a pencil factory prior to wedding Richard "Buck" Spalding in the last half of the 1940's and lived there with a friend named, Mildred, for a period of time. Edith had been involved with a man called "Red," while she lived in St. Louis, and possibly Glenn Allen and/or Cape Girardeau, MO. I believe Red was in the Navy. She always said he was the only man she ever loved. She said that marrying "Buck" Spalding was safe because she did not love him, and so, he would never be able to control her. I included this information because it is the only thing about Red she repeated throughout the years, other than his name, and it is possible that the person I am searching for has heard those words from her. It is unknown if "Red" is the man's nickname, or if he still survives. If he, or any relative, wishes to respond, I want nothing other than to know the truth. Edith Page, Spalding gave birth to me, a female, on September 24, 1948, and named me Judith Alene. I was her second child and second daughter. The birth certificate claims that husband, Richard Spalding was my father, but Edith claimed after his death that he was not. I am searching for some truth and only that. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
