There are gravestones for J.T. Whittington and his wife, M.A. in the Old Union Seminary Cemetery, Jones County, Ms. This information was recently gotten the hard way, (hiking through some of Jones County, Mississippi's beautiful piney woods) through the efforts of a cousin, on a hunt for the gravesites of our gr-gr-grandfather, Dr. John R. and that of his wife, Matilda (Mixon) Smith. They found his, along with W.M.&E.A. Ulmers, John Wells, R.&M.E. Hosey, and the Whittingtons, as well as children from some of those listed. Burial dates in the small cemetery span 1870-1907. Thought this information may prove helpful to someone. Happy hunting, W.L.(Smith)Sakowski | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
