I am currently looking for information on Daniel Walsh, a seaman on USS Monitor during the Civil War. He was born in Ireland in around 1835. He was the son of John and Catherine Walsh, who were both born in Ireland. The family would immigrate to the United States some time before the Civil War. Daniel was a sailor by trade. In 1890, Daniel, his parents and his sister Mary were all living in Lawrence, Essex County, Massachusetts. He is listed as being a widower.
