 I am trying to trace an ancestor who left Frederickshavn in Denmark on a ship bound for South Africa ~1800 to ~1860. Apparently his surname was written incorrectly at immigration to Jansen. It might have been Jensen or Janssen. He married a woman called Elizabeth VICE, who may have been from Germany originally.
