My great grand father, Matthew Whelan(Whalen or Phelan) had 2 brothers who were born in Donaghmore area of County Laois(previously Queen's County) Whilst I have very little detail on them, I guess they may have been born c 1830s. One of them was called Jack(John). The other may have been called James.Both emigrated to USA. Again, no details. Any help appreciated. Regards Liz Sweeney
