Shearer: From Germany? I've heard that in Germany there is a town named Shearer (with the 'a') and that US decendents settled mostly in PA. (My grandfather, Thomas Lyle Shearer) was from Pittsburgh and that's what he claimed. But he was not much of a genealogist! Mike
