my mother Harriet Memos was born in Nashua New Hampshire on September 30,1930. On May 24, 1963, at the age of 32, my mother voluntarily committed herself to the new Hampshire State Hospital. At the time of her hospital admittance, she was 7 months pregnant. She had the baby either at the State Hospital or at a nearby Concord Hospital. The baby may have died or was born stillborn but more likely, this baby boy or girl ( don't know which) , was adopted. I have no idea what agency the state hospital would deal with - or if it was a private adoption. Unfortunately, my mother's records from the State Hospital are sketchy at best about this pregnancy. The report only mentions that she was pregnant upon arrival at the hospitalon May 24, 1963.
