My great-great-great-uncle was Johannes Johannesen. He was born on Feb. 1, 1829 on the Bolkeneie Farm near Jevnaker, Norway. He married Mari Eriksdtr Svenbalrude and had 5 children: Johannes (born in Norway), Kari (born in Norway), Annen Maria (born at sea), Hannah Jensina (born in U.S.), and Emma Lorine (born in U.S.). The family immigrated to the U.S. in 1864 and landed in Wisconsin. The took the name Roste, as they were from the Røste Farm near Jevnaker, Norway. Within a few years they made their way to Sacred Heart, MN. By 1910, most of the children moved to Northern Minnesota and Saskatchewan, Canada. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
