I was born July 19,1945 in Battle Creek, Mi. Both a/mom & b/mom worked at the hospital. A/mom always referred to it as Leila hospital, although of that I`m not sure as the hospitals changed alot during this time. B/mom & a/mom both worked in the laundry department. This is how they met. B/mom did not name me. I was given my name by my a/parents. Before that, I was called " baby boy ". A/parents were Herbert & Pearl Robertson. They named me Jerry H. Robertson at the time of my adoption, on July 28, 1945, when I was just 9 days old. B/mom signed her name as Marie White. No middle name or initial. She lived at 84 River St Battle Creek, Mi. Her date of birth is Dec.28 & as she was 21 years old at this time, ( she would`ve turned 22 yr. old that Dec. ), I`m assuming her year of birth would be 1923 or 24 ? She listed father as Unknown. However, my a/mother did tell me, that my b/father was in the military & stationed at Fort Custard in Battle Creek, Mi. She also said b/father was Swedish. A/father told me that b/father came to my a/fathers place of employment requesting to see me & that my a/father refused him. Also, once after my a/father passed away, my a/mother told me that she always thought that my wife & I got along so well as my b/mothers family also came from Ky., where my wife was from & that we had more in common than we realized. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
