Searching for birth mother and birth father. I was born at St. Mary's Hospital in San Francisco on Feb. 22, 1968. I am a biracial girl (white mother, African American father) and was originally named "Julie," I think. I have (and had at birth) cafe au lait skin and blue eyes (now green). I received my adoption records with names blacked out so I know that my mother was 18 years old and graduated from high school in 1967. She had an older sister and a younger brother. Her parents were divorced. Her father was a car salesman. Records say that my mother wanted to marry my father but both sets of grandparents talked them out of it. My father is African American and was 21 years old in 1968. He graduated from high school in 1964 and went to college for a year to study electronics. His parents were still married and he had an older sister (who had a child at that time). His father worked as a longshoreman; his mother as a housewife. At the time of my adoption, he expected to be drafted into Vietnam soon. Records say my father lettered in high school and liked swimming, waterskiing and playing with stereo equipment. I have graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Tourism Studies. I am now married with two children. I was adopted into a family with one brother and one sister. We're all still close but I would like very much to know more about my birth parents and their families, if possible. Thanks for your help. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
