Searching for relatives in Jefferson County, New York and Portage County, Wisconsin. Great Grandfather, Henry Whittaker along with his brother John(b abt 1814-Alexandria/d 1890-Portage County) migrated from New York to Portage County in the 1850's. Henry also lived in Iowa for a time when it is noted he died abt 1886(this maybe 1868). Henry b abt 1802 married Mabel Washburn(d before 1850--Mabel was the daughter of Dyer Washburn). They had 3 children: Ezra, Ann Janette, Schuyler. Henry remarried to Polly/Miranda Huff(?). They had three children in Jefferson County, New York before moving to Wisconsin in 1856. Children: Henry, William, Warren. Last child was Charles who was born in Wisconsin abt 1859.(Charles may have been adopted by William & Esther Anderson, Green Lake Wisconsin) Polly/Miranda died in Portage County in 1861. Henry's brother,John married Louisa Emerson. They had 6 children:unknown girl; Jane; Philander; Walter; Charlotte;Clark. The siblings left in New York were Sanford, Philo, Eli, & Gaylord. Their mother may have been Elizabeth and father may have been William.
