I am female and I was born on October 10, 1967 at Fresno Community Hospital, Fresno, Califoria around 5:30 (unsure if am or pm). I was adopted through the Children's Home Society of Bakersfield, California, where I stayed for two weeks before going home to my adopted parents on 10/31/67 where they lived in Taft, California. My adopted parents are Rev. Emil J. and Beverely A. Authelet and they had a son, John, who was 7 when I was born. My adopted father was the minister of the First Babtist Church of Taft, California at or around the time of my adoption. I have the original paperwork from Children's Home Society, which include one sheet of paper that explained/described my paternal parents as the following: my father was between the age of 17 -19 yrs old and my mother was between the age of 16 -18 yrs old. They were not married at the time. They both had blond hair and blue or hazel eyes and were of German and German/Irish heritage. My paternal father was possibly in the military and they both came from religious families with one or both having a father or grandfather who were ministers. They requested that I go to a religious family as well. I believe it also stated that my mom was taller than my dad and had long legs and was athletic. The final note on the paper stated that due to my parent's ages and their family backgrounds they weren't sure what to do as they were afraid of getting in trouble or being looked down upon by their families for my mother becoming pregnant. It further stated that it was one of their grandmothers who talked them into doing the right thing and that was to put me up for adoption. I do not know if my parents ever did marry, if they stayed together, or went their separate ways. I adore my adopted parents, but it would be a life's dream to be able to know something about my parents or to one day be able to meet them. P.s. my name is Karen Rae Authelet. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
