In conducting some research on my family (Onsgaard), I found the birth records of my GGG Grandfather Christian Larsen, born 1795. On those records listed as his father a Lars Morthesen, from Espeset, Nes Hallingdal Norway. Would anyone have information on if Lars Mortensen's father may have come from the same area of Norway? Why would my GGG Grandfather have the last name of Onsgaard and my GGGG Grandfather have the last name of Mortensen? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
