John Meredith, born 1828 in Ireland, came to Canada where he married a cousin in Simcoe county, had a child with her and then disappeared. His wife and child lived with her older brother after his disappearance. Believed to be the John Meredith who was in Algoma in both 1901 (Parkinson) and 1911 (Gladstone). He must have died within a few years of 1911, but we have been unable to find a death registration or burial record for him anywhere in Ontario. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
