Janet MACKIE marr Robert TORRANCE 26 Dec 1856, Kilmarnock. Janet was the d/o Robert MACKIE and Agnes DICKIE. Robert the s/o Stephen TORRANCE and Jane YOUNG, born Galston. They had Robert Young b.1857, John b 1858, William b 1861,James b.1870, George b.1872, all in Kilmarnock. Robert was a farmer mainly in the Galston area, he died 1899, sons James and George wandered over the border down to Essex where they farmed at Ilford.
