Looking for anyone who knew my grandfather or has information about him. His name was Elio Orfeo CENCI. He was born in either 1894/95 most likely in Terni, Italy (that's where he immigrated to Ellis Island from). His brothers were Gustavo (artist), Terzo (Sculptor), Dante (musician). His sister was Clelia (divorcee). Their parents were Alessandra Formiconi Cenci & Agostino Cenci. Elio lived in Trenton, NJ, Toms River, NJ (he had the Cenci Art School on Main Street & a barber shop), Fort Lee, NJ (he had a barbar shop). Maybe he lived on Long island, NY. He also lived in Schenectady, NY. He was a real rogue. He had a wife (my grandmother...Adeline Yaccarino Cenci) adn a mistress (Pasqualina Romanelli Ricciardi). He had kids with each. Elio worked in the 1930s for noted church sculptor Antonio Belo in Astoria Queens. Elio went back to ITaly in 1927...we don't know why. Elio was a writer, a speechmaker, a playright. All his papers were burned after he died. I don't know where or when he died, but most likely in the 1960s in either NJ or NY. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
