CROCKER | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
Query Text: |
Seeking contact with Crockers who have or know of kin who were born with 6 fingers and/or 6 toes. This genetic anomaly appears regularly in descendants of Sarah Holmes Crocker (husband John Crocker) *22 Nov 1832 Nova Scotia +12 Aug 1916 Lynn MA. In 1870 recently widowed Sarah, living in Newburyport, MA, turned out on their own her 4 oldest children (William H., Clarissa E., James Barnaby & Abigail Alice) and placed her 4 youngest (twins Annetta and Henrietta, Anna Dora & John Whitman) in the New England (later Baldwin Place)Home for Little Wanderers in Boston. Because of these family circumstances it has been very difficult for descendants of Sarah Holmes Crocker to establish their pedigree. The extra toes and fingers appear in descendants of James Barnaby, Henrietta and John Whitman, and are a good indicator of ancestry. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
