Re: NAIRN (Posting this on behalf of a friend) Would like to learn more about the following: William NAIRN who married Marjory Dunn 10 May 1872 at St. Andrews Church, Christchurch, New Zealand, Christchurch. William Nairn was born 1846, Scotland (his siblings & family?) Marjory Dunn was born 1851 Kinnaird, Scotland died 23 Nov. 1926 & his buried in the family plot in Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, Canterbury, New Zealand. William Nairn, before his marriage was employed by Mr. William McLauchlan, as a labourer on his farm, where he would more than likely have met Marjory Dunn, who was Wm. McLauchlan's niece. The marriage did not last long as William travelled a lot and on a business trip to Melbourne, he failed to return. Marjory was left to spend 50 years sadly wondering what had happened to him. She resumed life at "Mayfield" cottage where she pursued her main interest of gardening & church activites. Would love to learn of William's fate? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
