Searching for a Jones family that lived in San Augustine, Tx in the mid to late 1800's. They took in a small child to raise after it's mother died on a wagon train headed to Texas. Don't know where the wagon train was coming from. About the age of 16 the young boy discovered that he was not a Jones, but a Belrose. He left the family, and never returned. His name was Caleb Belrose b. 08/22/1864 d. in Shelby County 03/25/1934. I am trying to search our Belrose family lineage, but can't go back any further than Caleb because we do not know his parents names. Was hoping to find descendants of the Jones family in hopes to gain somemore information that may have been passed down to them over the years about Caleb's family. We were told that Caleb's father died in the war, and his mother died on the wagon train. That is all that we know! Any information would greatly be appreciated! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
