Missing since 1901...Josef Kivipelto (changed name to Virtanen)Born Nov. 21 1880. in Ikaalinen Finland to parents Aleksandra and Efraim Koskinen Ikaalinen Fin. He moved to USA in 1901. He was a professional blacksmith. He was reported to have been eaten by wolves while crossing a lake in either Mimm or Mich. no proof was ever found. I hope someone may have a lead on this mysterious "cold case" I would like to put this death of my great uncle Josef to rest..It deeply troubled his sister,(my grandmother) as well as my mother..I can recall as a young child how she lamented over his disappearance and hoped someday we would know if he really was attacked by wolves or was his fate ...at the hands of a human..or did he die on the lake? perhaps he lived a long life.....which is strange as he left such a loving and caring family behind.
