3/28/08 1400 MDT Dear Friends: If you can help with any of these items of information, I would be grateful. I'd be delighted to get the info & would share with you & give appropriate credit. I'm gathering all facts possible & am planning a 2 to 5-page paper that would be my paternal grandfather's biography. You may know the answers ... or at least some of them. Daniel O'Connell, my paternal grandfather half-Irish & half-French, was born in Hemmingford, Quebec, Canada in 1853. His parents were John O'Connell & Mary Lavoris. Birthday? Christening info? Names, birth order, & years of birth of his siblings? He is thought to have lived for awhile in Philadelphia, PA. When arrived? When left? He is thought to have had one or more brothers who moved to New Jersey: The "pro" ball-player Danny O'Connell & the "big band" singer Helen O'Connell (a brother & sister) were his nephew & niece. Bio info on them & their parents? He met Bridget Scanlon (a native of Co. Sligo, Ireland) in Kansas City, marrying her 10/17/1888 at Old St. Patrick's Church, in Kansas City, MO. The only information about D's occupation is that he was listed as a Stevedore. But he couldn't have have been a Stevedore in KC. What WAS his occupation? Education? The children of the O'Connells were (in order, I think) John, Daniel Andrew, William V., Patrick Henry, & Margaret. Birthdays? Where did they all live in KC? I believe D. died in 1929. Date? Cause? Where buried? Sincerely, Daniel F. O'Connell Rio Rancho, NM USA ("docrrnm@netzero.com") | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
