My great-great grandfather was farmer James O'Leary, born around 1843 in Co. Limerick or Co. Cork. On 20 Jul 1875 in Ballingarry, Co. Limerick, he married Mary Storan, born around 1844 in Co. Limerick. They had at least five children, all born and reared in Feenagh, Kilmurry, Co. Limerick: John Patrick (b. 1876), James (b. 1877), Dennis (b. 1879), Mary (b. 1884), and Patrick (b. 1887). John Patrick, or JP, my great-grandfather, moved to Tarmon, Knock, Co. Clare (outside Kilrush) around 1900 and managed Stokes' Creamery in Kilrush until around 1913. He married Frances (Fanny) McDonnell of Tarmon in 1906 in Kilrush, and they had at least 11 children: Michael, James, Patrick, Mary (Mollie), Josephine (Josie), William (Bill), Helen (Sr. Bosco), Frances, Norah, Bridget (Bridie), and Denis. Around 1913 the family moved to Co. Limerick, somewhere around Castleconnell or Annacotty, where JP managed another creamery around Bunkey Bridge or Castleconnell. Places where the children may have attended school are Ahane, Newport, or Bunkey Bridge. In the mid-1920s the family moved to Rossmore, Cashel, Co. Tipperary, where JP managed a creamery until his death in 1967. Michael, James, Mollie, Josie, and Bill emigrated to New York City (Queens and Brooklyn) in the late 1920s and early 1930s. I'm looking for information on my gg grandfather James O'Leary, who lived in Feenagh until his death on 5 Apr 1937, and anyone else in his sept. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
