I'm trying to trace back James Buddy/Buddie general labourer or Jane Buddy maiden name Blackie both deceased before 1867 they are listed as the parents of my great grandfather on the marriage certificate of my great grandfather to my great grandmother in the district of Dalziel County of lanark My great grandfather John Buddy/Buddie lived at 23 St John's square Motherwell and my great grandmother Lily Smellie daughter of William Smellie serving man and Ann Smellie maiden name Cullen lived Windmill Hill St motherwell I receive an answer from someone but their email is now blocking my responses here is my response Hope you read this Hi Caroline, I'm not sure if you got my latest email. I just got this. Dear Dan I am not sure if you received my last email as I was unable to access your invitation to view the family tree. I have spoken to my brother and the information we have on James Buddie and Jane Blackie were kindly given to me from a good friend who researches family trees as a hobby. James Buddie was the son of John Buddie and Caherine Yule date about 1798. Jane Blackie we think could be the daughter of Sir Thomas Blackie and Dame Agnes Dingwall these last two names are not confirmed we would need to see parish records and marriage certificates from Scotland. The documents we have on our father and grandfather are very hard to read but my brother is going to write them down for me. We are trying to have contact with someone who was close to my grandfather he passed away 1978 in Hudson New Jersey. Our grandfather and your grandmother were brother and sister.There are so many Johns James and Williams it becomes quite confusing.I don't know if this information is any help to you. P lease let me know. Caroline Buddie Yes we are related since this matches my info. Your mother was Muriel Woodford who passed away last, year correct. You had a brother John who died in 1990. Besides your brother Robert do you have another brother? If this is correct please let me know and I'll try again to give you access to my tree.Please give me your and your brothers' information to add to the tree plus any information you may have on your mothers family.
