Looking for additional Information and verificiation of data if possible. Charles Leslie Choate was born in Caro Michigan in 1888. He is one of three children born to William M Choate and Sabrina Hutchinson. His siblings were Frank and William. Charles Leslie Choate died on the 26th of August 1957 in Michigan. Charles father was William Choate. William M Choate was born in 1850 in Germany, exact location and date is not known at this time. Who his Parents were and if he had any siblings have not yet been discovered. The date and location of his marriage to Sabrina C Hutchinson are not known at this time. William died in 1909, in Michigan. Possible Research - - Choate’s have been found in Monroe Michigan, and Toledo Ohio. How they are related or if they are related will need further research. There was a Samuel Choate who was a lighthouse Keeper on Turtle Island. There are also many Choate’s in Saginaw Michigan and some in Grand Rapids Michigan, but as of yet none have been connected. I have found a Choate family that came from England in the 1600s, and settled in Massachusetts, they later migrated to Connecticut, Vermont, then on to Michigan. Could this be our Choate’s, time will tell. We however believe our Choate’s were in Germany up to the 1800’s. There is also a Choate Island in Essex National Heritage Area of Massachusetts, this island also known as Hog Island was settled by the first Choate family in America. Until more information can be found about William Choate, our research cannot continue. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
