Seeking info on MARRIAGE OF UNKNOWN MALE SOMERFORD & UNKNOWN FEMALE TATUM which took place about the 1830's possibly near Savannah or Charleston. Both died in Yellow fever epidemic along with female child. The surviving children (Alan and Henry Washington Somerford)were raised by an aunt (their mother's sister) and her husband, James Hooks near Macon, GA. Their son, Alan Somerford, got gold fever and went west. The 1860 Federal Census records that Henry Washington Somerford (name listed as "H. W. Summerford") was living at Starkville, Lee Co., GA. Henry Washington Somerford served in the Confederate Army during the CW, in 1867 married Emma Drew (daughter of John & Sarah (Hobbs) Drew) in FL, and in 1871 moved to Grimes Co., TX where he died in 1919.
