Query Text: |
I would like and appreciate help as I start working on a genealogy of the Van Alstine's. Charles Van Alstine was born in 1838 and died Jan. 15, 1918. He came from Holland and settled in Proton Township, Ontario, Canada. His wife's name was Esther (Simmons). I suspect he came to Ontario via the U.S.A. No one seems to know how or where Charles arrived from. Charles brought along a son from Holland, Barnard. Barnard married Anna (Glass). Charles and Anna had 6 sons and 2 daughters as follows: Alex, Calgary; Barney, Montana; Joseph, Montana; Manford, Owen Sound; Edmond, Owen Sound; William, Proton Township; Mrs. J. Cornett, Owen Sound; Mrs. J. Goodfellow, Owen Sound. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
