My father, Donald Prentice Herbert, was born 3 January 1926. My mother was his second wife. He and his first wife separated some time in the early to mid-1950s. She then gave birth - probably between 1953 and 1956, though I'm not sure - to a daughter. Linda? Robin? She and my (our?) grandmother had corresponded over the years. I had contact info and spoke with her in 1982 when my father died, but I cannot recall her name. She was living in California at the time. My father had always contested his paternity and she was aware of this. But, I have always thought we were likely half-sisters.
