I am searching for my father John Fennelly or my mother Mary Smyth. Also, Sean & Cecilia Smyth who were sponsors at my baptism on December 19th 1946 at St Mary's Church,Haddington Rd, Dublin. I was born in St Brendan's Nursing Home, which is now a private residence at 39 Percy Place, Donnybrook, Dublin on December 14,1946. A neighbour who lived nearby told me the lady who owned the home was Kitty Dalton, originally from Co. Kilkenny and was the daughter of the original owner. She sold the home sometime after her mother died and moved to England in the 1960s or 1970s. When I was one week old my father was told by a priest to leave me with the nuns at St Brigid's Orphanage, Eccles Rd, Dublin. He was listed on my birth certificate as an Officer in the R.A.F with his residence at 19, Queens Drive, Liverpool. My birth certificate shows that my parents were married but my baptismal certificate shows they were unmarried. I went to London to live with my future adoptive parents in 1949, when I was about 3 years old and the adoption was legalised through the courts there, sometime in 1951.
