My great uncle, Nathaniel Abbey (born 19 Dec 1886), his wife Florence Abbey (nee Beattie, born c1886) and their youngest daughter Jean M Abbey (born 1928) all emigrated from Bromley, Kent, England to New Zealand in 1951 aboard the SS Ruahine. Once in New Zealand they apparently met up with two elder sons, Ronald Frederick (or Frederick Ronald) Abbey (ship's officer, born 1927, emigrated ?1949) and William Robert Abbey (printer, born 1919). The only known address for any of them in New Zealand is 23 Fort Richard Road, Otahuhu in the late 1950s. I would very much like to hear what became of any of these Abbeys and/or from their descendants, to re-establish contact with this branch of my mother's family.
