Does anyone have any information about the Cayme family of Yeovil, Somerset, England? Robert Cayme was born about 1780 in Yeovil. He was a sailcloth manufacturer. He married Abigail Glyde in Exeter, Devon in 1808. Abigail was born in Exeter in 1783, the daughter of Jonathan and Ann Glyde. The census records show Robert and Abigail living in Yeovil in 1841 and in Taunton, Somerset in 1851. Their children were Robert William 1812, Ann 1813, Elizabeth 1815, William Glyde 1819, and Samuel George 1823. Elizabeth married Benoni Mullings of Devizes, Wiltshire in 1844 in Yeovil. Their children Richard Benoni 1845, Jane 1850, Herbert 1854, Lana M. or Sara M. 1856, and John Glyde 1859. In 1851 William Glyde Cayme was living in Brixham, Devon with his wife Anne and a 1 year old daughter, Melena. He was a chemist and grocer.Lost track of him after that. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
