I am looking for information on a Garret Byrns born about 1757 somewhere in Ireland. He emigrated to the US around 1840-1849 and settled in NY state. He may have spent a short time in Canada before settling in NY, although he was in NY for the 1850 census. He had at least 2 sons, Michael and William. His wife was Elizabeth (Betsy). Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.
