Searching for biological parents. Baby girl born on 17th February 1973 at 5:07am at Euclid General Hospital in Euclid, Ohio (Cuyahoga County). My adoption records state that there were no complications with the pregnancy, the gestation was 40 weeks, the labor was 5 hours (normal), the delivery was normal, the general birth conditions were good, and there were no abnormalities and/or birth injuries noted. I weighed 8 lbs. 14 oz, was 21" long, with 14" head, and 14" chest. Ohio Birth Index information provided indicates that I was one of only two births for my date of birth/city/county. My last name was BISHOP, the mother's maiden name was BISHOP (indicating that she was not married) with a Birth Certificate Number - Volume: 32252 & Certificate: 052040. The adoption agency was Lutheran Children's Aid Society, 4100 Franklin Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio, 44113. Case worker was Kathleen Norris. Maternal background from the adoption agency stated the following. "Her birth mother was of German and Irish descent and was born in 1952. She was 5' 4" tall, had medium bone structure, brown hair, green eyes, fair skin, and was in good health. In addition to graduating from high school, she was trained as a licensed practical nurse and worked on a private duty assignment in that capacity. She seemed to be an intelligent, sensitive individual who was very thougthful in planning for herself and for her baby. She availed herself of the counselling offered and wanted to make certain that she had explored all options open to her. The birth mother cam from a very large family being one of 11 children. Her mother was 5' 2" tall, had brown hair and hazel eyes, had completed 10th grade and was a full time housewife. Her father was 6' 1" tall, had a large bone structure, black hair, brown eyes, fair skin and was employed as an electrical set-up man in a shop. He had epilepsy which results in him having occassional seizures, however it is largely controlled by medication. Her siblings are all in good health with the exception of one sister who has epilepsy and is very slow in her mental development. They are of average height and the coloring of their hair and eyes vary." Paternal background from the adoption agency stated the following. "Her birth father was born in 1941 and was of Hungarian descent. He is 6' 4" tall, has a large bone structure, brown hair, green eyes, medium complexion and is in good health. He has a masters degree in Education and was employed in a counselling capacity. His mother is 5' 5" tall, has brown hair, grey eyes, medium complexion and is a high school graduate who was a full time housewife. His father is 6' 2" tall, has a large bone structure, brown hair, green eyes, medium complexion, is a high school graduate who was employed as a salesman. He had one sister who was tall and in good health. At the time of the pregnancy, the birth faterh was married to another woman, had a child by this marriage and thus was not at liberty to marry the birth mother." "After much deliberation and counselling both the birth mother and birth faterh felt that since they could not come to a decision about their own lives at this time, the only fair thing to do was place the child for adoption so that she could start out life with a stable, loving family." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
