I am searching for more information about Joseph Norris York, who lived in Stewartsville, Dekalb Co., MO. Born in 1865?, died Nov. 12, 1957.Joseph was an attorney. His father was Richard York,born in England, his mother was Sarah,also born in England. Am trying to get a maiden name for Sarah. Richard was in the 1870 IL census, was not in the 1880 census. Sarah remarried John Egel, Joseph was in the 1880 MO census as stepson to John Egel.Joseph married Olive Flanders, and had 3 sons, Claude, Earl, and Lloyd, who was my grandfather. Lloyd married Ruth Hinderks, daughter of Temme T. Hinderks, they had 2 sons, Lloyd H., who was my father, and Warren. I am stuck here, as all of these people have passed away, and there is no one else to ask. Until I can find Sarah's maiden name, I can't find anything else about her.
