I am searching for any members of my original families (mother, father, siblings). I was born on July 2, 1960 in West Jefferson Hospital of Marrero, Louisiana to a 26 year old white woman who had been employed as a private secretary. She had also attended nurses training and business school. My mother had previously been living in St. Vincents Maternity Home. My father was a tall, black man who worked in television repair. I am told that my birth mother and birth father had a daughter in July, 1959 who was adopted in Louisville,Kentucky and was possibly born in the same hospital and had her adoption handled by the same agency as I. Tha agency was Catholic Charities Adoption Services, Archdiocese of New Orleans located in Metarie, Louisiana. I would certainly be happy to meet my sister if it were possibe. I was sent to Lafon Home for Boys and some of this information was given to me by the nuns who took care of us. I was adopted on May 26, 1961 by a beautiful Creole family from Texas and I was loved and well cared for. One of the nuns was related to my adoptive family and she made them aware of me. Not all of the children at the orphanage were so lucky and that carries an immeasurable sadness. I am a tall, heavy set man with hazel eyes. If, after all this time, I am lucky enough to find a blood relative it would truly be a wonderful thing. I am very sorry that it took so long for me to begin my search. The attached photograph shows me on the right giving my son a bicycle at his birthday party. It was a good day and he was surrounded by friends and family. The picture was taken at our family home where both he and I grew up and still live. If I receive a response I will attach a better photo of myself.
