I am searching for info relating to my great great grandfather, William Byrns. He arrived in Miramichi, NB, Canada on or slightly before 1830. He had a brother John who joined him 2 yrs later. Story has it that he jumped a British Ship and ran through the woods for days only stopping when he was sure they wouldn't pursue him. Rumor also is that he was running from something in Ireland hence the reason for such secrecy in his background. The name may even be misspelled for various reasons. His children were William Henry,John, Margaret,Jane, Arthur, Elizabeth, charles, Jane, John,James Albert, Dan, Mary Ann, Raymond. Could these names be significant-parents, siblings? County Down has been mentioned a number of times but may have been a departure station. Any assistance would be appreciated. Tks Claudia | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
