I am looking for the ancestors of Mary (HARTFORD) McCormick. She was born in May 1868, in the "Irish Free State." She emigrated to the US, landing in New York City, in 1887. In 1892 she married my ggrandfather John McCormick. They had four sons: Thomas (my grandfather), John, James and Michael. John and Mary appear on the 1900 Manhattan NY census, but not again. However, I know from family that they continued to live in the New York City metropolitan area (which includes New Jersey.) I am still looking for a death certificate: my first choice was not the correct one, so I am waiting for another in the mail. I do not have any marriage records other than what is referenced on the census. I am hoping that Mary HARTFORD appears in someone's tree, and that they could lead me to her hometown and family.
