Query Text: |
I am searching for information about William Sampson who was born in New York state in 1791. He served in the War of 1812 as a private. (I don't know which regiment he was in,when/where he met his future wife,(Susannah Case--born in Rhode Island in 1801),or where or when he married.)He was located in Huron County, Florence township, Ohio in the 1820s. His first child, to my knowledge, was born in 1818. He had at least four children by then. (At least 7 children were in the family.) He and his family moved in the 1830s and were located in Macon county, Illinois in the 1840 census. This land later became part of Moultrie County (Lovington) where they lived until their deaths. She died in 1854, he in 1875. The Sampson family, according to my paternal grandmother, came from New England. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
