Hello, I live in Australia in Queensland on the Gold Coast and I have been looking for information about BRIDGET BOYLE (my great grandmother) who was born in/or around DUNFANAGHY? IRELAND in about 1840? She left Ireland when she was in her early 20's and she came to Australia. She lived in the North Western area of New South Wales and she married JOHN SWEEN(E)Y (my great grand-father) in 1868 in MURRURUNDI, in North Western New South Wales. Prior to marrying John Sween(e)y she had a daughter (my grandmother) born in 1867 whose father was John Sween(e)y and who was named FRANCES (known as FANNY) SWEEN(E)Y. Bridget also gave birth to twin boys in 1868. JOHN SWEEN(E)Y also came from DUNFANAGHY and came to Australia as well. Possibly (?) Bridget Boyle and John Sween(e)y came to Australia with their respective parents (?) but those details are unknown as is the fact of what their parents' names were ? We can find NO RECORDS of Bridget Boyle or John Sween(e)y during their earlier years in Dunfanaghy in Ireland or of their parents - who would be my "great etc" ancestors !!If there is ANYONE OUT THERE who knows any information at all about the BOYLES' and/or the SWEEN(E)Y'S of DUNFANAGHY, IRELAND I would be so very grateful to hear from you.
