I am looking for Job & Elizabeth Clevenger that supposedly lived at Short Creek,VA, prior to living in Delaware Co., Indiana (possibly around 1842-1860). I found a Short Creek Stream and a Short Creek Cemetery, both in Wise County, VA, listed on locater map. I do not find either listed on the Wise County VA web site. Job Clevenger is the son of Thomas Clevenger, of which I am trying to find parentage for him. According to George R. Griffith's book "Clevenger Pioneers & Descendants" , Gateway Press, Inc. 1980, page 389 he states they lived there before IN. Could you help me locate proof of that statement? It seems to be verified by Trowbridge General; Blevins; Gola, all Clevenger researchers also. They do not, however, state the reason they make that statement.
