Looking for relatives of Tom Christian IWERS who left Schleswig-Holstein (Flensburg area) about 1888 for Hawarden, Sioux County, Iowa. He married Maria Helen ASMUSSEN (AUSMUSSEN), daughter of Thomas Asmussen and Catharina Helena Gefke, both of whom also emigrated to the US in 1887 and 1888, respectively, and settled in the Sioux County, Iowa, area. Catharina was the mother of Andreas F. GEFKE, b. in Flensburg, who came to the US in the early 1880's, Tama, IA, and then moved to Sioux County, Hawarden, IA.
