I found out recently that I was adopted in San Jose from a foster home. I was adopted when I was about 1.5 years old. My parents said they lost touch with my foster mother, who was Caucasian, after a few years. My mom showed me a document explaining some things about my birth parents. This is what it says: Andrew Joseph Wong "Your birth mother was 20 years of age when you were born. She was of full Vietnamese descent. She was raised the first fourteen years of her life in Vietnam. Her family was a middle-class family in Vietnam. The family then escaped from Vietnam and were in a refugee camp in Malaysia for one year. They were sponsored by the Catholic Church and settled on the east coast of the united states. Although her father was retrained and had a good job, the finances were still a little tight as they had 5 children. Your birth mother was the oldest. She had had two years of college and worked part-time at the time of your birth and continued as a working student afterwards. She was studying computer science. Her hobbies were drawing, painting, music, going to museums and playing tennis. she also enjoyed reading. She felt close to her family. She was 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighed 120 pounds, had black year, brown eyes, and a light tan complexion. She was of the catholic religion. Your birth mother met your birth father on the campus of the college she attended on the east coast, although he attended another college. They saw each other for about 6-8 months, and he did offer her marriage, but reportedly her parents did not approve it. He was about 5 feet 7 or 8 inches tall, and was about 130 pounds, and had black hair and brown eyes. He, also, was of full Vietnamese descent. Your birth mother had come to California and was staying with a relative at the time of your birth. She returned to the east coast in June 1986. She wrote a number of letters and was sent information about you and pictures. Although it was a difficult decision, your birth mother felt you needed a two parent family who could provide you with a stable, loving home, which she was not in a position to do." I hope this is enough information for my birth parents to find me. I am curious and would like to meet one day. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
