A further update: I have discovered that a Betty J. Schmidt did extensive research on my family prior to her death in 2005. If anyone knows of her work on the McHales or shared information with her about the John Martin McHale family, emigration to the US 1835-36, please contact me. Updated: I have dates! lol It was brought to my attention that this would be extremely useful in garnering appropriate responses, so here is what I have now: JAMES "Jesse" McHale (b. 1883 NE, d. 1932 IA) - would have been MOST helpful if Mom had known his first name wasn't really Jesse!! - was the son of John McHale from Pennsylvania, 1840-1908. John in turn was the son of John Martin McHale of County Mayo, Ireland - which confirms what I believed and was always told was probably not right all along - we are Co Mayo McHales! He married Mary Bridget Nealon, listed only as "born in Ireland". If anyone has information on J. Martin McHale, Co Mayo or Mary Bridget Nealon, Co unknown, that would be a great help! I am particularly interested in the family before emigration to the states, but would welcome any and all information concerning this branch of the McHales. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
