I am trying to chase my family tree. I know little about my family other than my grandfathers name is Mayo Childress and he is from Bagota County,Tx. He joined the army, I'm not sure when, but only served 1 enlistment of 2 or 3 years. I'm not sure if he was stationed in El Paso, Tx (Ft. Bliss) of if he just ended up there, but her lived there from at least 1949 until he passed in the mid to late 90's. He married Johnnie Mae Dixon also from Tx but not sure what part and they together had 6 daughters who all live in Tx. Mayo also has/had 2 son I dont have any information on them. His mother was full native american indian and his father was black, but I dont have any information on them either.
